I debated between 4 and 5 stars only because the shipping process needs improving, but decided to rate 5 since the shipping really doesn't have to do with the product. This mattress is great. It's firm but not too firm... has a soft top. It's heavy enough to just sit on a bed frame that doesn't have a lip around the edges and doesn't slide on ours. The reviews are correct when they say you can sit on the edges of the mattress, and it doesn't collapse. However, I can only see this mattress lasting about 5 years with adequate use by my young son,... more like 3 years with an adult on it, but I could be wrong. Still, it is a huge savings and great quality. It doesn't come in a box in which it has to inflate to its size. It comes shipped in a giant box just as it is which I thought was great. However, be prepared to dispose of a giant box later. Back to the shipping process... our mattress had a long way to come and with a carrier I had never heard of. Shipping time was pretty good for a mattress, but when the carrier got here, it was an unmarked van. Then the guy gets out and asks me if I had anyone to unload it. What? He was too heavy and appeared to limp some (nothing AT ALL against heavy people), but I (a woman who is not very strong & has a bad knee) had to basically unload my own mattress. In his defense, he did try to help me get it on the porch. So, you see, we BOTH were in a predicament. This raises the question of, "Why doesn't this shipping service have individuals who can actually deliver heavy items such as this?" In my opinion, Wal-mart should NOT be using this shipping service.

Great mattress, shipping carrier not good

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I am in happy heaven! My old bed was comfy, but this...wowza! It is so soft, but not like sinking in soft, more like, here, let me support you and cradle you, soft. I can push down on one of the diamond segments and when I take my hand away the bed is the way it was, so, no matter which position you are laying in, it is perfect. I didn't feel my significant other when he moved, I don't think I disturbed him either. The sides of the bed are firm so when you sit on it you don't feel like you are doing any damage. I like the silver material on the sides and the pretty top. This is a great mattress and box spring set, you can't go wrong.

shhhhhh! I am sleeping like a baby!

I took my time and slept on this mattress a few weeks before writing my review. I didn't want the feel of an unfamiliar mattress to taint my review.

My previous mattress was a Serta pillow top mattress that was very plush but also had good support.

I found this Sealy to not quite be as plush due to the lack of pillow top but was still very plush and it felt as if it had better support than my old Serta. I never woke with back pain that I would occasionally get with the Serta. Once I got used to the feel of the new mattress I fell asleep fast and did not toss and turn much. I really liked the way this mattress felt and I don't think I would want to go back to a pillow top even if the opportunity presented itself.

My 13 year old son even wanted to get in on the review so I sacrificed my bed one night and slept on the couch while he slept on the Sealy. He slept in until 11:00am on that Saturday and said he loved the mattress and that he fell asleep fast and doesn't remember waking up at all through the night. Now he is begging me for one for his room.

Considering the price point and what I paid for my Serta I think this mattress is a steal. I would highly recommend it!

Very plush yet maintains good support

I am reviewing the queen size Sealy Bourdon Plush Mattress. This mattress arrived packaged in a cardboard box and also wrapped in plastic within the cardboard. It was packaged so well, I didn't have to worry about any damage or dirt. There was zero smell to the mattress which is great. (Sometimes new mattress have chemical smell) I like that the mattress is American made! I am extremely happy with this mattress. The Bourdon mattress offers plenty of support, I used to have hip pains from my older mattress, but with this mattress I don't have any problems with hip issues. In addition to being supportive, it is also very comfortable. I think the Bourdon hits the perfect balance between support and cushioning. I share my bed with my husband and my 70 pound dog and I noticed I haven't been waking up as much when my dog jumps on the bed in the night. I am a person that likes to sleep on my side, back and stomach and I felt comfortable in every sleep position. My husband is a back sleeper and loves the mattress as well. This is a very comfortable mattress!

Supportive & Comfortable Mattress

I bought two of these mattresses for a trundle bed. They fit perfectly, were comfortable, provided firm support that I was after.  They arrived a few days earlier than first noted a purchase which was great. Well protected with plastic cover and in a heavy-duty box. Pick up at local Walmart was easy.

Very Pleased!

First I want to say that I am so pleased with the packaging in which this Sealy mattress arrived...It arrived in a well sealed box...The only thing that was a lil problem was getting it inside my home...The box was really big...what we did was remove the box which worked so well and we did not have any problem getting it inside our home...I honestly have never seen a mattress being delivered in a box...Once opened the mattress was in a very secure and thick plastic...which of course was great...Once bed was installed...We tested it...Wow it is so soft...but not too soft you completly sink in...It also has a firmness to it...So just imagine sleeping on a plush-firm bed...My husband and I where completely amazed of the good sleep we had...The bed itself looks simple but it has a cute design to it...Trust me...It felt a lot better than my previous pillow-top mattress that I had... =)

Better than I expected :)

This Sealy bourdon plush mattress is of a queen size and at first look is quite beautiful, the box springs and the mattress both have grey sides and are matched perfectly. The top of the mattress is a winter white with grey design and is quilted in a diamond design, The height of the mattress and box springs are of a distance which is correct for the length of a bedspread to hang correctly.

When you sit on the edge of the mattress you will notice the increase of the stability and support when you are slipping on your shoes. When you lay back onto the mattress you will feel the support of the entire mattress and in no way do you feel the pressure on your hips or shoulders. Support and comfort that allows you to lay and not fear of the possible detection of a spring or coil, this will not happen.

The next thing you will note about this bourdon sealy mattress is that when you move about in the bed there is not any disturbance with others sleeping. When you sit on the mattress there is no rebound to the other side of the bed.

The normal shoulder pressure and hip pressure from being a side sleeper has not been a problem as the mattress seems to allow the body to conform with the mattress rather than defeat the comfort of a mattress that is supportive and yet comfortable.

I recommend this mattress to all who have issues with pressure points and wake up feeling tired I have slept longer without disruption and feeling better when I get up in the morning since I have been sleeping on this mattress.

Very Comfortable

The Sealy Bourdon Queen Mattress is very comfortable to sleep on. We were surprised that it was firm without being hard. We have slept on the mattress for over a week and haven't had a bad nights sleep. Waking up in the morning with no backache is a huge plus. The standard set of queen sheets fit perfect on the mattress. The mattress will make a wonderful guest bed for when company stays or when the grandchildren stay. No more worries about an old lumpy bed for my guests.
The only thing we would have liked is a pillow top for the mattress. Our king mattress is very firm with a pillow top and that makes it so comfortable without being hard. This mattress isn't hard, but we think a pillow top is a nice addition to any mattress. That being said, we can always purchase a separate mattress topper. Overall, we really like this mattress, it is comfortable and we had a restful nights sleep since we've received it.

Comfortable

The Plush Sealy Bourdon Mattress is the perfect bedding solution for anyone that doesn't have a lot of money to spend but wants a comfortable mattress. We wanted the mattress for our vacation cabin where we have a queen bed, and my husband and I were both very happy with the quality rest we have had on it. The mattress arrived packaged in heavy plastic wrap and a large, sturdy box. I would say the Plush Sealy Bourdon Mattress is right in the middle between too firm and too soft with a tendency towards a “softer” sleep. Sealy markets the SolidEdge system that provides a solid mattress edge versus the ones that dip on the sides when you move too far over. I did actually notice this when sleeping. It's a nice feature, especially because we regularly sleep in a king size bed so having the extra space was a bonus. Sealy also says they have a gel orthhozone foam, which is a proprietary layer of gel foam designed to help promote a cool sleeping environment. I don't know that I particularly noticed any major temperature difference, however, in more extreme temperatures I may. The mattress appears to be sturdy enough that it will stand up over time and not immediately create the dips that cheaper mattresses do, but only time will tell. Overall, this mattress is a great value, and I would highly recommend it.

Comfortable, Quality Mattress at Affordable Price

I received this mattress on September 4, 2015 and there was a hole in the bottom of the box springs caused from shipping but I closed it up with some Velcro tape and I also added more staples around the edges and down the center to help keep the bottom in place. If you have cats, you know how important it is to close up any holes under a bed. Although it's touted as plush, when I lie down on it, it seems to be too firm for me. I've slept on this bed several nights now and another thing is I'm feeling the mattress pattern, and this is through a mattress protector, too. It does have a nice springy feel to it and laying on it is comfortable enough but I think I should have selected the Sealy Faux Euro Top Cathcart Plush Mattress as that has 2" SuperSoft Sealy Foam that I'm sure would be more comfortable for me. Overall, it's a basic mattress that I think has a warranty of like 5 years. I would say if you need or want a new mattress, spend a little more on something you'll really love that has a thicker layer of foam for the truly plush feeling. I can't really recommend this because as I said, lying down on it, it just feels too firm for a plush mattress.

More firm than plush

We liked the way that our king size mattress was packaged and sent to the store for pick up. However, we had the mattress for two weeks and already purchased a mattress topper (which cost us an additional $130.00 - on sale) because we were extremely uncomfortable. When taking into the consideration how inexpensive the king size mattress was and the deal that we were able to find on the mattress, we are still ahead financially.
